Happy New Year ☺

I might try and blog a bit more this year - more of a diary than before perhaps. We shall see how long it lasts...

Travelled back from Mum and Dad's this afternoon, car loaded up with some of my West German vase collection after nearly doing my back in up the loft ☺ Now just got to find homes for them all which will be a challenge. Apart from miserable weather and a jam on the M4, it was wonderfully quiet on the roads. We had the compulsory Costa stop both ways as well - I seem to have taken to skinny lattes...a sign of things to come perhaps! A good time was had by all, we came back with a Christmas cheque (always handy when moving house!) a big box of shortbread (half-eaten already) and the obligatory Chocolate Orange. I also finally got my birthday present of two Nigel Slater books which I'm slowly browsing through. Sadly we also confirmed that Steve really is allergic to cats, which means a re-think of our anti-mouse plans. There are definitely mice in this house!

Partly inspired by Mr Slater, I'm about to start googling for a veggie box scheme and to find where the decent food shops locally might be. I'm getting a bit fed up of "packaged in a protective atmosphere" meat which always smells "off" when you open it, and wrinkly, sad veggies flown in from Kenya.Saying that, we had crispy chicken things out of the freezer and chips for dinner ☺

Knitting-wise, having moved all the stash, I've decided I'm going to try and use some of it up this year. No "yarn diet" here, I just want to use some of the awesome stuff I've got hidden away. After all, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of sheep around so I don't think I need to be concerned just yet!

~♥~

Is it too late to say Happy New Year? Your post just reminded me that I didn't get my giant Toblerone from my Mum this year . . I think I'm disappointed!
